On October 23, 2023 ZeroMils hosted the first of its kind national Military Thriving Change Forum at Georgetown University in Washington DC. More than 160 CEOs, senior executives, and leaders from across the public and private sectors came together to create actionable solutions and a blueprint to achieve one goal:

“To create a private sector-led movement that increases the propensity to serve among our youth by changing the narrative about Veterans and their families in the workplace and in society—by projecting positive examples of service through Veteran employee engagement with best-in-class nonprofits, serving shoulder to shoulder with young people in local communities, nationwide.”

Building on momentum from Georgetown, several dozen national organizations are mobilizing in Dallas to execute our first Community-Wide Engagement (CWE) on March 19. It will be the first in a series of CWEs across America in 2025 that will help achieve our shared goal and improve propensity to serve.

Beginning early in the morning we will gather at 7:00 am CST for a Circle of Remembrance and Community Run in partnership with wear blue: run to remember. Between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm CST we will be at the Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel in partnership with the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families and their Veterans EDGE conference.

Opening ceremonies will begin promptly at 10 am CST,  followed by opportunities to engage in hands-on volunteer service projects with Operation Gratitude to support local Veterans and first responders in Dallas, as well as a series of Character and Leadership Development programs led by Travis Manion Foundation with a special guest appearance by Medal of Honor recipient, Sal Giunta.

About Us

ZeroMils is a term of both science and art, used in the military to describe a state of perfection that accounts for accuracy and effectiveness. Once attained, ZeroMils allows  you to achieve maximum impact on a target.

Our mission as social impact consultants to corporations and nonprofit organizations is to create Military Thriving cultures and communities. Our vision is to use our experiences to make our history every Veteran’s and Military Spouse’s future—with a focus on small business owners like us.

We are intentional in our efforts to serve alongside organizations and leaders who focus on what we know to be true:  that although Veterans and their families face unique challenges, the vast majority of us overcome them and thrive as a result of our service and not in spite of it.

Our Founders

This ultimately led him to founding ZeroMils with fellow Marine Veteran and long-time friend, Kevin Schmiegel where they are creating Military Thriving® cultures and communities with their clients and partners in the places where they live, work and serve. Paul and his wife Beth have four children and three grandchildren, and when not serving their community can be found enjoying the beach on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina.
